Jessica's background includes riding and showing hunters, training horses to perform at liberty, and foundation training for a variety of disciplines.

As a teacher, her goal is to help each rider develop a relationship with the horse based on love, trust, and effective communication. As a horse trainer, she strives to create soft, supple, balanced horses that are happy in their work and a joy to own and ride.

Jessica’s unique training is the culmination of years of learning from a wide group of horsemen and women. During her formative years, she sought out professionals with backgrounds as diverse as hunter legend Geoff Teall in Wellington, Florida, show jumper Margie GoldsteinEngle and natural horseman Ray Hunt. She spent 10 weeks with Pat Parelli, and countless hours with her early mentor and friend, Frank Barnett of Williston, Florida.

Watching and learning from great horsemen, combined with her own natural instincts, helped form the philosophy and program that is known today as, simply, Jessica Piazza Horsemanship. Welcome to the Journey.

Mosswood Farm, located just off Highway 441 near historic Micanopy, Florida, is home to Jessica Piazza Horsemanship and offers full training board, a lighted arena, as well as serene at-liberty areas adjacent to Lake Tuscawilla.

Mosswood Farm is no longer offering lessons or accepting new applications for boarding horses.  We are concentrating on our current boarding clients and personal carriage driving competition activities.  Thanks to all our previous clients for being part of our horse lives.
